We offer Direct to Garment (DTG) and Direct to Film (DTF).
Direct to Garment (DTG) is printing directly onto the fabric usually a t-shirt, hoodie, or fabric. We have videos of this on our social media pages.
Direct to Film (DTF) is printing directly onto an engineered 'wax paper' type material. We can set this 'wax paper' on the platen and the printer will print the image in reverse the same way it prints as if it was printing on a t shirt. The printed wax paper gets sunk into pigment crystals, shaken off, and then roasted. Once this is complete the DTF can me handled, stacked, or used as needed. These are great for dri-fit type fabric usually a t-shirt, hoodie, or fabric. We have videos of this on our social media pages.
Our turnaround time varies depending on the size and complexity of the order. Custom orders can take about two (2) weeks. We order specific items from our Phx warehouse (takes 3-5 days), then we prep material, pretreat, and print. It can take less depending on orders in que. Once materials are on site, we strive to complete all orders within 3-5 business days.
Yes, we offer rush printing services for an additional fee. Please contact us for more information.
We order from our local Phx warehouse. We provide a link to the warehouse so clients can look at materials, colors, and options. The link does not allow for quantities or pricing.
The ink is non toxic, Earth Friendly, and no plastics which means WASH in COLD. Dry low temp or air dry. If the image gets chewed on by a child or pet there are no harmful toxins in the ink. Call us if something happens and we will try to help.
We have printed on Ts, hoodies, hats, cups, candle jars, sweats, jerseys, fanny packs, ornaments, cutting boards, puzzle boards, and we have made tattoos for kids.
Desert Horizons Printed was created to fill a few of our family needs. Sean and Kris are both teachers (public and private), Kris finished her Masters in Education Leadership and needed a way to pay back her school loan. She had over twelve years experience working with her vinyl plotters (not a Cricuit) but didn't want to go back to the weeding. She had made shirts for her preschoolers and her staff for decades. So it was in her wheel house of familiarity and Sean was supportive.
Second, our oldest is Autistic and he wanted to learn how to have a business, this was a great way to give him guidance and support as he worked on it at his interest level.
Third, our other children needed to learn the skillset and mindset of being an entrepreneur, all have varying interests and have been able to create unique ts, hoodies, hats, pop its, key chains for themselves and as gifts.
The first major machine we had was an absolute lemon, it worked maybe 3-5 days a month. We worked tirelessly with the tech support and it took them 364 days to fix it and it was never a good machine. As we struggled to get the machine working consistently we purchased other printers which gave us more consistent product. We bought out other small businesses which help to strengthen ours and gain allies.
We have also experienced issues with web-hosting, search engines, and social media so we understand the struggles other small businesses have to go through when starting up.
Sean is a Arizona Native and Kris grew up moving every few years. We have lived in Gilbert for over 16 years as Educators and still work in those fields and run this to help support our family and community.
